‘Nikang Nekang’ Therapeutic Camp: Beyond the Barrier between the Challenged and the Unchallenged

Abstract

The most serious problem with PDD (Pervasive Developmental Disorder) children is social maladaptation as they grow older. Although Korea has prepared inclusive education between children with and without disabilities, psychological integration must precede physical integration. To instigate psychological integration, occupational therapists held an integration therapeutic camp comprising therapeutic play and activities. Participants of the Camp were positive about the camp and parents reported improvements in the children’s ADL skills, such as socializing techniques.
