Abstract

This article sets out to describe the development of a new service for students with significant mental health problems attending the University of Dublin, Trinity College. The project was based in the Disability Service and was funded through the European Social Service for Students with Disabilities. The focus of the service is supporting students in achieving their occupational goals of being full time students, meeting deadlines, passing examinations, participating and managing their coursework. The Service is now in its second year, and the structure and programme content are presented here, as well as the outcomes of the evaluation that was carried out by both the staff and students after the first year of its operation
