From an idea to innovative OT practice – running a kiosk is not just selling sweets

Abstract

It can be a challenging task to find effective solutions for reintegration into employment after interruptions in people’s work careers due to mental health problems. This paper describes a sales kiosk which, since 2010, has been used as a training space, including the customer contact and related work. Jobs in the kiosk provide closeness to the ordinary employment market, therapeutic support and a stepwise increase in demands.
