Towards a universal culture: knowledge and practice without borders
Keywords:
Occupational therapy education, inclusion, knowledge exchange, internet, international co-operation.Abstract
As the occupational therapy profession develops in an increasing number of countries, new students and practitioners have difficulty accessing an appropriate range of literature and resources, due to cost. While some on-line facilities exist for countries whose per capita income is very low, other countries with relatively low per capita income do not qualify, and students struggle to obtain suitable materials. Using the example of Mauritius, where the professional education programme has been operating for just a decade, the authors call for a more inclusive sharing of resources, not only to enable better educational facilities but also to promote a reciprocal knowledge exchange between practitioners in different countries.Downloads
