Abstract

The European network project ETNA1 dealt with the development of an information system for ICT based Assistive Technology. This article introduces the project, explains how it was set up and offers an overview of the applied methods and the project’s results. It illustrates how user profiles were developed and the related information needs were defined. It exposes how the analysis of existing resources was completed, how dataset taxonomies were created and provides a brief insight of an evaluation of the first test version of the information system. Conclusions are drawn from an OT-perspective, outlining the value of the chosen interdisciplinary approach and the relevance and opportunities that the resulting information system provides to certain fields of occupational therapy practice.
