Abstract

In Latvia, extensive use of specific assistive technologies by persons with disabilities is still limited. More often it is modern everyday technologies which can be used for achievement of specific rehabilitation goals or for facilitation of participation in everyday life. This article provides examples of how modern everyday technologies has been used as intervention in OT education and practice in Latvia. The main focus for designing intervention continues to be on support of a person’s engagement in chosen occupations and participation in the community and this can be well supported by modern technology.
