Occupational therapy structured activities for substance use recovery
Keywords:
Participation, work, purposeful activity.Abstract
This descriptive case study illustrates a 38-year-old man with a chronic dysfunction resulting from poly-substance dependence. The participant became engaged with structured activities in a protective environment. Occupational Therapy intervention facilitated a transformation in the participant’s occupational performance and roles (WFOT 2012). The therapist’s belief in the value of work was validated, particularly in the rehabilitation of an individual with substance use.Downloads
