Abstract

This paper describes an international partnership that was established for the purpose of setting up the first occupational therapy educational programme in Mozambique. The author is a lecturer at the Escola Superior de Sade do Alcoito in Portugal, one of the partners. She was involved in the process of developing and delivering the occupational therapy programme at the Instituto Superior de Cincias da Sade, in Mozambique, with the support of the Ministrio da Sade de Moambique. The case study demonstrates that such international projects should be open to and allow for sharing, taking into account cultural perspectives. It is essential to its sustainability that the local university takes ownership of a new developing education programme.
