Abstract

In recent years, Icelandic occupational therapists have been actively working to expand practice into new areas, for instance, within the school system, day care facilities, community health, private businesses and industry. A lot of work has been done to promote the profession and strengthen our position in the health care system. This article describes the private practice of an OT, as an ergonomics consultant to businesses, using lectures, work station evaluations, and making recommendations for improving the work environment.
