Abstract

This article takes a lateral view of how we cope with stress in the workplace as occupational therapists and how we can advise our clients on stress management in their workplaces. The central themes in the article are as follows: That it is the same stress people with and without disability encounter in different proportions, and that much of the stress we all encounter in the workplace is avoidable with good management techniques. Stress management techniques must also be included in the education of occupational therapy students for the working role.
