Abstract

A scientific analysis of the economic value of occupational therapy was carried out by the Swedish Association of Occupational Therapists in collaboration with a consultancy agency. Revenue was calculated in terms of the value of the increased amount of work made available. Shortening the number of sickness days by using occupational therapy intervention was seen to be of great economic benefit to the whole society.
