Gestalttherapie als klientenzentrierter Ansatz im Vergleich mit dem CMOP

Abstract

The importance of further developing the profession of occupational therapy is certainly undisputed. The question, however, is what models we should use to drive this development forward in a meaningful and effective way. It is the author's opinion that one does not have to reinvent the wheel. Linking existing Occupational Therapist models with theoretical and practical backgrounds from other therapeutic procedures will be helpful. The process of Gestalt therapy, grew out of Humanistic Psychology, possesses a series of parallels to the Canadian Model of Occupational Performance (CMOP), and it could therefore contribute to the development of Occupational Therapy.
