Abstract

Coming up to retirement, following a decade of running two full time jobs of WFOT and University teaching, plans were made relating to intensive gardening, active grand parenting and watercolour painting. One year prior to the retirement date bilateral Osteoarthritis of both hips and sacroiliac joints was diagnosed. This put a new complexion upon future plans. My previous experience in human anatomy, physiology and pain management gave me a deeper understanding of the problems involved and I have been able to utilise this knowledge in the problem solving process and forward planning in my active life as a result.
