Abstract

This paper describes the history of professional education and curriculum issues about Occupational Therapists in Brazil. We articulate the proposals of curriculum guidelines, as defined by national education policies, to today’s model of Higher Education in this country and how it reflects in the education of human resources for the health area, especially Occupational Therapists. The challenge lies in how professional education, with the expansion of vacancies in the Higher Education system, will match the needs of the Brazilian population.
